Looks pretty cool, Joe. You planning to have reviews up on all the movies you have listed?

Yes, and to continue with regularly scheduled reviews.

I have to agree with Quantum of Solace being a disappointment. I'm a pretty big Bond fan, and I loved Casino Royale, but Quantum came off as a confused, bland action film. I was really looking forward to it too.

It didn't even feel like a Bond film!

And, as my avatar suggests, I thought Tropic Thunder was all kinds of kick ass! I'm definitely picking up that DVD sometime.

edit: I spelled "Bond" as "Bong".

Whoops!

Hey Joe, have you thought about doing a year end special in the coming weeks about the best films of 2008?

There's still a lot I need to see, but I'm waiting to catch most of them for free on either Showtime, HBO, or Starz On Demand.

I have yet to see Iron Man! I also need to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Burn After Reading, Role Models, The Strangers, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Doubt, Eagle Eye (Which I really wanted to see at the theatre. Looked like an average film at beest, but probably had some cool moments on the big screen) Wanted, Lakeview Terrace,Pineapple Express, Step Brothers, Religulous, and probably a few others.

I plan to go see The Wrestler at the theatre, but who knows. I also might go see Valkyrie or/and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. If not, I'll catch them later On Demand for free sometime next year.

Man, I've got a lot to see. Actually, I just bought the Tropic Thunder DVD. Yeah, I already saw it, but I could tell that's one of those films I'll be able to watch over and over again. It was LEGEN... wait for it... wait for it... DARY!

I planned to just after 2009 starts. But I am way behind. Still trying to finish the ones hitting the theatres now, and the holiday work load isn't making things easy.

Most of them are worth that, but see Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Role Models, and Frost/Nixon on the big screen. They are so good. The rest can wait.

This one is terrible, the critics say. Haven't gotten to it yet.

I've got a lot to see too, and it's so hard with my fucking work schedule. But yeah, you and Tropic Thunder should get married! Ha! My lame comment of the month!

Fuck...can you believe this? I CAN'T REVIEW IT BECAUSE THE FUCKING RELIGIOT CHRISTIANS WON'T ALLOW IT IN THEATRES DOWN HERE SINCE THIS IS THE BIBLE BELT! I'm still mad over that one. I was going to mention this earlier, but forgot. Thanks again to the Bible bigots for slamming ole' Jeebuz down our throats!

Joe, how was the theatre when you saw Mall Cop?

I went to see Gran Torino last week and the theatre was more packed than ever before... and I went on Pirates 3 opening night! You know why the place was packed?

Everyone was going to see Mall Cop! Damn, it was like the movie of the year or something came out if you went by the lines. I was not expecting that. I must have severely underestimated the drawing power of Kevin James, because it looked like he outdrew every film ever released. It was crazy.

Well, I get online copies of them to review mostly. But a friend said the same thing. Everyone was racing to see it. The critics panned it, but not this one!

If you can endure rap stand-offs and some occasional melodrama, a moving story is to be found at the core. Notably strong performances stood out on the parts of Jamal Woolard as B.I.G. and Derek Luke as Sean "Puffy" Combs. Sweetly timed, the pace of the film stays nearly steady, though many scenes are cut to where insufficient drama (build-up) can't be extracted from them.

Combs is hilarious. Doesn't he want to be the next Bruce Willis or something? I've seen him in a couple of things and I still can't make my mind up on him. My mind is always blown by the fact that friggin' Puff Daddy is on my TV screen trying to act.

Recently, he's been on CSI:Miami. Pretty decent part, actually.

Did he get a credit for producing or writing or something in that movie you saw, Joe?

I hate rap music. I despise it, loathe it with a passion. It puts a bad taste in my mouth. I hate all loud music and anything beat-y almost as much. Particularly, I hate any song about "hoes" and "bitches," and people who boast about the violence they inflict and how worthy they are of blow-jobs. I don't know what it is, but I hate seeing a bunch of convicted felons dance around with gold jewelry on, occasionally flapping their arms out from their sides, while know-nothing kids who watch from around the world by the millions think these clowns are cool for doing so.

Oh yeah... did I mention I hate rap? I think I did, but...well...just for the record, I'll say it once more: I hate rap, and usually all that is associated with it.

You hate rap? Shit, one can barely tell from that passage. It's not the least bit clear.
