You keep hearing about recalls with every damn car company today, even Toyota. But this, when thought about, would actually be scary...

I thought it was a joke at first, but it's not. If true, Toyota may be stepping down as champ, just like Suburu, which used to be the undisputed best in the 70s and early 80s, did.

I must have gotten the wrong story from that link. It was the story of a math teacher who saved a bunch of kids by tackling a gunman. Good story, but nothing to do with Toyota, and I couldn't see you thinking it was a joke. Were you referring to the Congressional grilling story?

Here we go...couldn't get Yahoo news to quit shifting videos, but the video was a woman crying as her car accelerated to over 100 mph on the freeway. Here, the president of Toyota apologizes...

I've talked to some people about this and I am surprised that they are surprised of all the unethical shit Toyota has done here.

As soon as this story appeared on the scene I figured that much.

You see what he avoids saying there? Pretty much tells the whole story. If Toyota is able to stay on top after this then I will be partly surprised. It all comes down to how effective the public relations campaign is.

So far, the campaign has been lacking.

Now Toyota have withdrawn the Lexus from sale in America, following a consumer magazine report that advises customers - DO NOT BUY THIS CAR IT IS DANGEROUS.

I really do not know how Toyota are going to recover from all this especially in America.
