Here’s an exercise for your downtime. Go back and re-watch a favorite cartoon of yours from your childhood, just one episode. I venture to say you’ll be amazed at the sheer level of badness of what you once thought was the coolest. Take an old favorite of mine, Thundercats.

Have you ever had the chance to go back and see one of these episodes? Oh…my…God! They’re vomit-inducing, partly because of that most annoying of all animated characters, Snarf. The creators of Snarf should be sodomized with the broken-off end of a broomstick handle.

:hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha:

Dude, I watched Thundercats too when I was young but I never went back and watched it. Is it really that bad? When I think Thundercats, I think bad ass!

I tell you what, I have rewatched some shows. Doug, for instance (on Nick). Still dig it. And Scooby Doo is awesome. Like, just watched 2 episodes in the past week. Dude... Shaggy flipped a slice of ham... mustard side heads, plain side tails... you have any idea how crazy that was to watch? Dude.... dude.

I also caught some episodes of H.R. Pufnstuf.... couldn't make heads or tails of it. What in the holy fuck was going on there? I watched it like crazy when I was a kid, but it sort of scared the hell out of me back then. Nightmare inducing stuff, I tell ya.

My parents still have the whole series on video, probably.

Still think The Flintstones and The Jetsons rock. Did you watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when you were a kid? I did, but haven't rewatched it. Any good? The videogames (like Turtles in Time) still kick major ass, though.

I grew up when Nickelodeon was HUGE. Loved classic Nick. "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" was one of my faves as a kid. I watched some episodes of it online last Fall... have to say it's cheesy as hell. But, I grew up on that stuff you know? I still found stuff I enjoy about it. I remember it being interesting and scary to a level the adult me just laughs at. Still though, there were some interesting tales and all. The one where the kid gets stuck in the pinball machine at the mall is cool as hell.

I won't take no shit talking on "Salute Your Shorts". Awesome fucking show. Yep, watched it again 2 years back.

Darkwing Duck, Fraggle Rock, He-Man (btw, I loved the film version. Still have it on VHS, actually, and I still dig the hell out of it.), and Care Bears was some other stuff I really dug as a kid. Haven't seen it since (cept for the HM film, of course).

Smurfs still rule, btw.

Not all of it sucks, but then again, I guess it has to do with your state of mind. Still, try watching Thundar and Thundercats. It's just not the same...unless you're 11. The Jetsons I never liked.

A big mention for the handsome, intrepid, fearless and hopelessly talented graphic artist that designed Joe's Film review Banner.

Shia LaBeouf is at it again as "Sam Witwicky," breaking hearts and being the good-looking American boy that reminds me of a 1940s Chevy salesman. The girls want him, but they can’t have him. And you have Megan Fox as "Mikaela Banes" being just as out of reach with the boys. It’s all about the kids nowadays. It’s become an unwritten rule when making films to cater to those who spend 7 hours or more a day texting and editing their MySpace pages.

I kind of don't get Fox; really, I don't get why she's talked about so much. Yeah, she's attractive and all, but from what I've seen, the woman can act about as good as Kiss did in the legendary "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krqunBxN7LQ&feature=related

To add to that, every time she opens her mouth off screen, she embarrasses herself. Not too bright.

Am I missing something? I hear women my age talking about her just as much, if not more, than guys.

I mean, she's hot, but she's not that hot.

I'm actually going out to see Transformers tomorrow with a small party.

Wish me luck! Luckily, I've been watching a ton of more complex work lately, so a vain, sugary film may not go over too bad with me.

Alright, so I'll have some thoughts up about it later. For now....

What the hell kind of a name is Mikaela? You know what name looks good on paper? Mikayla.

Agent Simmons (John Turturro), the cheesy F.B.I. guy who reeks of being an out-of-work actor desperate for a part who helped to make the 2007 Transformers movie the steaming bowl of toilet soup that it was is back. But, incredibly, he’s the most pleasing addition to the cast (if “pleasing” can be used to describe anything or anyone in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen).

Too busy at the moment for a mini review of sorts, but I'll get to it.

The original score for the film kicked some pretty major ass, though. I'm thinking about taking that melody from "Nest", twisting it around quite a bit, and hopefully winding up with something that is able to stand alone . I like to do that; pulls the sound memory to the surface of a person's brain and gets them to immediately take a liking to your tune.
