It's an excellent sound, very expressive, such as when one sees a voluptuous hottie with boobs like ripe melons fighting for position under a tight t-shirt, one would express their pleasure by murmering 'phwoar'... Phewf, I feel a little flustered now! Edited by Gemmy63, Oct 2 2008, 07:17 PM.

I suspect it's an extension of "wow." But more breath exhaling with the leading w. Imagine blowing out from circled lips, like trying to fan a camp fire flame; then end the sound like an extended w as happens at the end of 'jaw.' |
